Adjusting the tonal range automatically

Using the Auto Levels filter, you can automatically define the lightest and darkest pixels in an image. The Auto Levels filter is exactly the same as the Levels filter except Fireworks does the work for you.

To adjust highlights and shadows automatically:

1	Select the image in either object mode or image edit mode.
2	Choose Xtras > Adjust Color > Auto Levels.

Note: You can also adjust the highlights and shadows automatically by clicking the Auto button in the Levels or Curves dialog box.
